Announced during the season

How this works

  • Official pages only. Every date comes from the agency page linked on its row.
  • Rechecked every quarter, and monthly for anything opening soon.
  • “Usually”means the agency describes a usual window but hasn't set this year's date. Those rows never go in your calendar.
  • Seasons change mid-season. Agencies post emergency rules; the rows link those pages too.
  • Dates are calendar days on your own clock, so a new month starts at your midnight.

About this tool

When does trout season open? When do the archery seasons start, or the mountain roads open for summer? This calendar gathers the Pacific Northwest season openers and windows we track in one place, and every line links to the official agency page that sets the date.

Filter by what you do (fishing, shellfish, hunting, roads and areas, or foraging) and by region, then see what's opening this month and what's already open. Add one date or your whole filtered list to your phone's calendar, with an optional reminder a week before.

We take dates only from the agencies that set them, such as the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and we recheck them on a regular schedule. Seasons can change once they're underway, so the official page is always one tap away, along with the date we last checked it.
