How this works

Every permit or reservation here opens in one of five ways:

  • A set date: booking opens at one moment for the whole season.
  • A lottery: you apply during a window, then the agency draws and posts results.
  • Rolling: each day, one more day opens a set number of days or months ahead.
  • Not posted yet:the agency hasn't set next season's dates.
  • No reservation: self-issue at the trailhead, or first come, first served.

Windows open on the agency's clock. We show that time, and yours when it's different.

Rolling windows count back from your arrival date. When the month they land in is shorter (say, six months before August 31), we show that month's last day and say “check the exact date”.

We never book for you and never send alerts. Put the time in your own calendar and be ready a few minutes early.

Each season's dates are set by the agency. When they aren't posted, we say so instead of guessing.

About this tool

The hardest part of many Pacific Northwest trips is getting the permit or the campsite. Some wilderness areas use lotteries, many campgrounds open a set number of months ahead, and each system has its own date, time, and time zone. This calendar gathers the booking windows for well-known permits and reservations in Washington and Oregon and does the date math for you. See what opens soon, check when booking opens for your trip date, and add the moment a window opens to your own calendar with one tap. Times show in the agency's time zone and in yours. We don't book anything for you, we don't send alerts, and we don't use bots: you apply on the official site, the same as everyone else. Dates and rules come from each agency's official page, with the date we last checked them. When next season's dates aren't posted yet, we say so instead of guessing. Always confirm on the official site before the window opens.
