The Osprey Women’s Viva 65 Backpack isn’t going to carry all your glamping gear but it will carry everything you actually need for a few days in the wilderness. Better still, it won’t leave your back yearning for that battery-powered massager you got for your birthday last year. Osprey equipped the Viva with everything you need to rough it comfortably in the wild, like a efficient and comfortable LightWire peripheral frame that supports loads between 30 and 50 pounds. It also attached a breathable Airscape backpanel to help keep you cool and comfortable, even when you’re hiking up a steep, sunny, and dusty trail with forty pounds strapped to your back. The bottom of the bag is fitted with a sleeping bag compartment with a removable divider, and the cavernous main compartment can be packed to the brim via the reliable top-loading design. You can cinch down the floating lid to save on space when you’re packing light, or extend it when you do decide to bring along everything but the kitchen sink. Small items like headlamps, maps, snacks, and rain jackets can be stashed in any of the top, front, side, or hip pockets. When the end goal does require more specialized equipment, the Viva will smoothly carry extra gear via the dual front daisy chains, ice axe loops, and trekking pole carriers.
